Chapter 10: The Cabin
Leah walked down a gentle slope, control in hand. She aimed the control at the hill and pushed the button to open the garage door that she could not see. To her amazement, a very large grass door started opening to reveal a dark room. The opening appeared large enough for the RV to fit through. Peter drove the RV inside. They saw a very large open space with concrete floors. Over to the left, at a 90 degree angle from where they were, was a sign that said, "RV parking here." Peter manuevered the RV to its parking spot. Leah pushed the appropriate buttons to open the RV up to its full extensions. This meant that the wall went out 15 in a half feet on both sides. The back extended backwards 20 feet. The ceiling rose 16 feet after Leah and Peter had pulled down all of the bookshelves, kitchen cabinents, and the craft table from the ceiling and put them in place. They climbed out of the RV and had a look around. Peter noticed a door and beckoned Leah to follow.
Peter flashed his penlight in search of a light switch. He turned on the light and walked in.
"This place is awesome," exclaimed Leah. "It's like a long tunnel. I love the arched ceiling!"
"And it's gold!"
A few feet down the tunnel and a large room materialized on the left.
"Our own indoor garden! I just love it!" said Leah.
"We even have our own waterfalls, and they call this a cabin? It's a mansion!"
They continued on with their tour, stopping to turn on the "tv" that shown its stuff onto the large movie theater sized screen.
Newscaster said, "Word has it that more mafia evidence may be in British Columbia in an underground cabin."
"Bloody hell!" Peter exploded. "That's the last thing we need! Come on!"
Peter plopped against a wall to let Leah through and fell backwards instead. He reached out his hands behind him to break his fall. Leah gasped. "I'm okay. Let's see where this goes. Maybe it's an out."
12 miles later, they found themselves in an underground home even more lavish then the one they had left. In the kitchen fridge, Peter found a letter. he opened it.
IF YOU ARE READING THIS, I AM ASSUMING YOU NEED A NEW IDENTITY. FOLLOW THIS LETTER TO A TEE AND ALL WILL BE WELL WITH THEE. NOTHING HERE IS CONNECTED TO MAFIA IN ANY WAY SHAPE OF FORM. THEY AND I ARE FORMER COMPETITORS. I SAY FORMER, BECAUSE I NO LONGER AM ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE LAW. I ARRANGED THIS BEFORE MY CHANGE OF HEART. I WILL NO LONGER COME HERE OR ASSOCIATE WITH THIS. BEST REGARDS.
Peter and Leah found the motor bikes with trailors attached in the garage. Quickly, they went back to their other cabin and loaded up the bikes with as much stuff as possible. Several trips was made to get all the food, clothes, books, and so on to the new place. After everything was moved, they went back, special cleaning solution in hand, and cleaned the entire place from top to bottom, destroying all evidence of them being there. This solution was suppose to destroy fibers, finger prints, scents and anything else that got in it's way, even heat marks. It was a newly discovered chemical combination. Peter figured that it was placed in the fridgerator only days before they got there. He had only just read about the stuff in the Spy Magazine and wondered how he could order the stuff without attracting attention. They got on their bikes with the old remote control in hand and took off. When they were half way home, Peter punched in the code as instructed on the letter and threw the remote control as far as he could. Peter then took off after Leah, going at top speed. Bombs were going off behind him. It sounded like the entire cabin was one big bomb going off. As soon as Peter drove through the doorway, the door closed behind him and several layers of rock fell behind the door, securing any possibility of that door ever being opened again. Unbeknownst to them, the cabin they left behind had walls filled with a special solution, that when exposed to extreme heat, solidifies into a rock. That cabin became one huge rock with no signs of fire remaining thanks to the special solution that destroyed fire evidence. No sooner had this new scientific phenomena finished, the CIA, FBI and the Canadian Mounties descended upon the scene. They started digging holes with their shovels. They kept striking rock. The grass that was left was only weeds. The news said that all three agencies were taking responsibility for faulty information. The case was also closed.
Peter and Leah threw the food into the fridge or freezer and then prepared their favorite meal - salmon ala strawberries, fettucine alfredo, cherry italian soda with the glass filled to the brim with cherries, and dark chocolate triple decker cake. They had bought this and was saving it for this occasion. Everything else was left scattered all over the place. Tomorrow will be a new day, a day for cleaning the entire house, putting things away, and finally planning their new life. However, the very first thing they wanted to do, was find a church. The following morning, they drove into town in search of a church. What they found was a Rabbi who witnessed to them about Yeshua, Jesus in Hebrew. They fast became friends. Peter and Leah ended up attending a Messianic Synagogue, instead of a church. They also found, that their new identity fitted nicely with such a Messianic Jewish lifestyle. Their Rabbi baptized them with immersion in lake water, mentioning the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and Yeshua the Messiah. Peter and Leah raised their hands, and thanked Yeshua for their new life. With their new dedication, they made plans for their future life of university for further education, learning Hebrew and Greek, learning the Holy Bible, both the Tanak or the Old Testament and the B'rit Kadasha or the New Testament. They also decided that missions would be their new job and that they would have to go back home to their parents after they have learned all they could learn here.
